Riesling Smaragd Ried Wunderburg 2020

The Wunderburg is a portion of the vineyard occupying the well-known Kellerbergs to the south of the Dünrstein ruins. The character of the soil is shaped by the sandy loess (sand and silt mixture) a top mineralized bedrock, which in turn, together with the special flora of this region, shapes this unique Riesling. ‘Wonder’ (Wunder) applies not only in name; it also describes well the mystical, legendary and phantasmagorical beauty of this special region.
 
Wine: Dense and rich in extracts. In the nose dried fruit and fig aroma, on the palate mineral with intense apricot aroma. The long finish is reminiscent of honeydew melon.
 
Recommended food: veal and game dishes, duck, spicy cheese
